Insurance and Fees

Individual and Family Therapy

Not all therapy models are created equally. I provide therapy using the following modalities, which are evidenced based in working with children from backgrounds of trauma:

Advocacy

Generally, children from hard places need extra support in daycare, camps, school or social settings. We can work together to advocate for your child to learn and grow in the least restrictive environment while also having their needs met.

Parent Coaching

The months and years after adoption can be confusing or overwhelming for adoptive families. We are adoption-competent professionals and clinicians who are skilled in navigating services and providing trauma-responsive care.  Parent coaching is available for families who are already engaged in therapy services with an outside provider.

Connection

Our brains are wired to connect with others. Adoptive parents often learn this in reference to their kids, but it is especially true for parents connecting with other parents. We work to connect parents to a community.

Deescalation and Containment Training

Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) presents courses that follow a logical, sequential format that leads the person in crisis from the reactive part of the brain to the reasoning part of the brain to resolve the activating situation.

Training

Families who are engaged in post-adoption services through The Settlement Home are welcome to attend training with us in Trust-Based Relational Intervention. TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
